Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our independent practice in Glasgow. In this vital role, you will provide high-quality nursing care, support veterinarians in clinical procedures, and ensure the well-being of our animal patients. Your expertise will help deliver compassionate, efficient, and professional veterinary services that make a real difference in the lives of pets and their owners.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills within a friendly and supportive environment where every day brings new challenges and rewards.

Full time, 30-40 hours, with 1 in 3 Saturday mornings. No out of hours.

Responsibilities
  • Assist veterinarians during consultations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures with confidence and precision.
  • Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinary team.
  • Monitor anesthesia and recovery processes, ensuring patient safety at all times.
  • Conduct laboratory tests, including blood work and other diagnostics, to support accurate diagnoses.
  • Maintain detailed medical records for each patient, ensuring compliance with legal and professional standards.
  • Educate pet owners on post-treatment care, preventive health measures and nutrition advice.
  • Manage clinical stock levels, sterilize equipment and uphold strict hygiene protocols to maintain a safe environment.
Qualifications
  • Registered with the relevant veterinary nursing regulatory body.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners, colleagues, and external partners.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining a caring attitude towards animals and clients.
