Assessment Support Manager

Salary: £29,700 - £38,550 per annum

Location:

Cambridge, Hybrid (2-3 days per week in Cambridge)

Contract:

Full time, permanent – 35 hours per week

As an Assessment Support Manager, you'll support the development and quality assurance of English language assessments, working closely with assessment specialists and colleagues across the organisation. You'll play an important role in ensuring assessment materials are accurate, fit for purpose and delivered to the high standards expected by learners, educators and institutions worldwide

About the role

This role sits within Assessment Operations and supports a range of assessment content activities that help maintain the quality and validity of our English language qualifications. You'll contribute to assessment content production, quality assurance activities and continuous improvement initiatives, while building effective relationships with subject matter experts and colleagues across the business

Additional responsibilities include
  • Supporting the production and review of assessment content to ensure quality, consistency and accuracy.
  • Contributing to quality assurance activities that support marking and results processes.
  • Working with assessment specialists and other partners to deliver assessment materials to agreed standards.
  • Identifying risks, issues and opportunities for improvement and escalating these appropriately.
  • Supporting the development and enhancement of assessment processes, documentation and ways of working.
  • Maintaining high standards of confidentiality, quality and compliance throughout your work.

The impact of this role extends beyond day-to-day delivery. You'll help ensure assessment materials remain accurate, valid and reliable, while supporting colleagues and external contributors involved in the development of qualifications used by learners across the world

About You

We're looking for someone who can review and evaluate content against defined requirements, communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders and manage competing priorities while maintaining excellent attention to detail.

You should also be able to demonstrate
  • Experience in English language teaching, language assessment, educational content development, educational publishing or another closely related field.
  • Experience working in a quality-focused environment requiring a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience reviewing, evaluating or producing content against defined standards or specifications.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Experience prioritising and managing multiple pieces of work.
We also welcome you to demonstrate the following
  • Knowledge of language assessment principles and practices.
  • English language teaching qualification or other relevant professional qualification.
  • Experience contributing to process improvements.
  • Experience with in assessment, qualifications, testing or educational publishing.
  • Experience interpreting and applying quantitative or qualitative data to support decision-making.
