Quality Assurance Team Leader

Join at Barclays as a Quality Assurance Team Leader, our Quality Assurance teams play a critical role in the fight against Financial Crime. Through robust oversight, challenge and continuous improvement, we help protect our customers, our communities and the wider financial system from money laundering, fraud and other criminal activity.

As a Quality Assurance Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading quality assurance activities across Transaction Monitoring and broader Financial Crime processes, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies and control standards. You will provide independent oversight and challenge, identify emerging risks and control gaps, drive continuous improvement and support the delivery of high-quality customer and colleague outcomes.

To be successful as a Quality Assurance Team Leader, you must have the following essential skills:

• Proven expertise in Transaction Monitoring and broader Financial Crime disciplines across international and UK jurisdictions, with a strong understanding of associated risks, controls and regulatory expectations.
• Strong risk and control knowledge, with the ability to identify control weaknesses, risk gaps and opportunities for continuous improvement with proven experience operating.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to provide effective challenge and build relationships across all levels of the organisation.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

• Professional Financial Crime qualification, such as ICA, ACAMS or equivalent certification.
• Experience leading and developing teams across multiple locations and jurisdictions.
• Experience using data analytics, Power BI and AI-enabled tools to identify emerging risks, quality themes and control weaknesses.

To determine, negotiate and agree internal quality procedures, service standards and specification to improve performance and quality directing objectives.

• Identification of industry trends and developments to implement best practice in quality assurance Services.
• Collaboration with teams across the bank to align and integrate quality assurance processes.
• Development and governance of internal quality assurance procedures, standards and specifications, and act as a catalyst for change, mitigate risks and maintain efficient operations.
• Development of reports and presentations on quality assurance performance and communicate findings to internal senior stakeholders.
• Identification of areas for improvement and providing recommendations for change in quality assurance processes and provide feedback and coaching for colleagues on these highlighted areas.
• Execution of service quality assessments to monitor the quality objectives set by the bank, and ensure they comply with regulatory requirements.
• Participation in projects and initiatives to improve quality assurance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Determination of risk based on outcome of QA reviews, flagging risks that are outside of tolerance.

• To advise and influence decision making, contribute to policy development and take responsibility for operational effectiveness. Collaborate closely with other functions/ business divisions.
• Lead a team performing complex tasks, using well developed professional knowledge and skills to deliver on work that impacts the whole business function.
