Our client is an innovative and rapidly growing organisation operating at the intersection of biology, automation, and data science, focused on advancing large‑scale proteomics to generate actionable biological insights.
To support the growth of their high‑performance team, we’re seeking an LC‑MS Proteomics Scientist to join their operations in Glasgow.
In this position, you will play a key operational role in ensuring the smooth day‑to‑day running of the proteomics laboratory. You will maintain instrument performance, perform proteomics methods, and help drive efficiency through automation and optimisation.
Key Responsibilities- Execute and support proteomics experiments focused on biomarker discovery and validation
- Develop and optimise LC‑MS/MS workflows using advanced techniques (DIA/PRM)
- Maintain and troubleshoot Thermo Orbitrap Mass Spectrometry systems
- Integrate automation and liquid handling to improve throughput
- Collaborate closely with scientists, chemists and data teams to support project delivery
- Contribute to technical documentation, reporting and scientific outputs
- BSc, MSc or PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or a related discipline
- Minimum 3 years’ experience using LC‑MS/MS in proteomics
- Hands‑on expertise with Thermo Orbitrap / Tribrid systems
- Strong troubleshooting and maintenance experience for MS instrumentation
- Experience running complete proteomic workflows from sample preparation through data acquisition
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
