• Lead and manage R&D projects, working closely with industrial partners.
• Develop new project concepts and secure funding from industry, Innovate UK and the EU.
• Collaborate with cross‑disciplinary teams to advance photonics research and development.

• Strong academic or industrial R&D record in photonics or optoelectronics.
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively to defined timescales.
• Experience in integrated optics, high‑power laser systems, optical design or quantum technologies (networking, sensing, computing).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
