Resilience Threat Lead

Location:

Glasgow Salary: £66-82K (plus up to 20% bonus, car allowance,family private healthcare & double-matched pension). Permanent, Hybrid (3 days in office per week)

SP Energy Networks is looking for a Cyber & Operational Resilience Crisis Manager to lead our crisis management, resilience and threat preparedness capabilities. This is a high-profile role that sits at the heart of our cyber security and operational resilience strategy.

What you’ll be doing

Working across IT, Operational Technology and critical business services, you will ensure the organisation is prepared to anticipate, withstand and respond effectively to cyber incidents, operational disruptions and major crisis events. You will shape how resilience is embedded across the business, developing a culture where employees, leaders and partners understand their roles and can respond with confidence when it matters most.

You'll lead the development of our Crisis Management Framework, oversee governance, playbooks and response procedures, and support executive leadership teams during major incidents. The role will drive threat-informed planning, crisis exercising, readiness testing and continuous improvement programmes that strengthen organisational resilience. A key part of the position is building and delivering realistic cyber, operational and executive-level simulations. You'll work closely with Security Operations, Threat Intelligence, Operational Technology, Risk and senior stakeholders to assess emerging threats, identify vulnerabilities and translate lessons learned into meaningful improvements.

Leading a team of resilience professionals, you will be responsible for organisational preparedness across SP Energy Networks. You'll manage resilience culture programmes, awareness initiatives, readiness metrics and regulatory compliance activities, while maintaining strong relationships with government agencies, regulators, industry bodies and strategic partners.

What you’ll bring

We're looking for an experienced leader with a strong background in cyber security, operational resilience, crisis management or emergency planning. You will have experience working within Critical National Infrastructure or other highly regulated environments, along with a solid understanding of cyber threats, incident response, NIS Regulations and the NCSC Cyber Assessment Framework. You will be comfortable influencing stakeholders during high-pressure situations and leading teams through complex challenges.

Strong communication, stakeholder management and people leadership skills are essential, as is the ability to turn strategy into action and deliver measurable outcomes. Experience with in the energy, utilities or wider Critical National Infrastructure sector would be advantageous, alongside relevant cyber security, resilience or crisis management qualifications.
