Senior Plumber – Cylinder Manufacturer & Plumbing Maintenance
Join the engineering team of one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of hot water cylinders and thermal storage solutions.
LocationResiding Central Scotland (based from home).
The RoleAs a Senior Plumber & Heating Engineer you will provide plumbing diagnostics, repairs, commissioning and maintenance across a range of products, including unvented & vented cylinders, heat pump systems and thermal stores. The role also involves working with the UK’s largest retirement apartment providers, undertaking maintenance & repair across residential apartments.
Responsibilities- Diagnose and repair faults on hot water cylinders and related components (immersion heaters, valves, pumps, sensors, controls).
- Complete planned maintenance, warranty repairs, and product upgrades.
- Ensure all work meets industry standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Complete service reports, job sheets, and warranty documentation accurately.
- Adhere to G3 regulations and all compliance requirements.
- Provide clear explanations of system operation and maintenance.
- Maintain a professional, customer-focused approach at all times.
- Share field feedback to support product development.
- Attend training sessions and keep technical knowledge up to date.
Your Skills & Experience
- Experience with hot water systems, unvented cylinders, thermal stores, or domestic heating systems.
- G3 Unvented Hot Water qualification advantage.
- Strong diagnostics and fault-finding skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage your workload.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Experience with heat pump cylinders or hybrid heating systems.
- Electrical competency (17th/18th Edition or equivalent).
Based from home, engineers work Monday to Friday on a 45‑hour week, including paid travel from door to door. An additional one day is worked on a weekend rota every six weeks, paid at overtime.
- Competitive salary (£39,000 to £45,000 based on experience).
