HGV Technician – Night shift – Glasgow W

Salary: £18‑£20 per hour. Rotational night shift on a 3.5 nights per week pattern (see example weeks below). Overtime and quarterly bonus available.

• Week 1:
  Monday‑Wednesday 19:00‑07:00 | Thursday 19:00‑01:00
• Week 2:
  Tuesday‑Thursday 19:00‑07:00 | Friday 19:00‑01:00

• Carry out regular MOT service inspections on a wide range of truck manufacturers.
• Fault finding and repair of engines, gearboxes, brakes, suspension systems, etc., to high standards and Volvo procedures.
• Assist in fault diagnosis processes.
• Service customer vehicles and complete service sheets.
• Road-test vehicles when required (HGV licence holder).
• Assist with roadside breakdowns.
• Process all relevant paperwork accurately and report all vehicle defects.
• Maintain workshop facilities, equipment, and tools in a clean and organized manner.
• Support the development of trainees and apprentices.

• Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance.
• Experience working on HGVs or completion of a HGV industry apprenticeship.
• HGV licence holder or willingness to obtain one.
