The Role

Working within the Specialist Children’s service in Greater Glasgow and Clyde, which encompasses Community Paediatrics, CAMHS, Neurodevelopmental & Acute Paediatrics, you will be committed to addressing the health and wellbeing needs of children, young people and their families. This exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team permanently. The focus of the posts is to support locality working across the Neurodevelopmental pathway, including assessment, post‑diagnostic intervention and providing support and consultancy across the wider children’s services as well as delivering and demonstrating uni‑professional added value where there is neurodevelopmental impact.

  • West Centre, Kinfauns Drive, Drumchapel
  • Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:00
  • There are two posts available, one full-time (36 hours) and one part‑time (14.4 hours)
  • Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part‑time hours
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a complex clinical caseload, undertaking assessment, formulation and diagnosis of neurodevelopmental conditions
  • Develop, implement and evaluate person‑centred care plans in partnership with children, young people and their families
  • Work autonomously while contributing effectively within a multi‑disciplinary and multi‑agency team to ensure coordinated care
  • Provide specialist advice, guidance and support to patients, carers, education staff and partner agencies
  • Coordinate care and interventions across services, ensuring effective communication and continuity of care
  • Supervise, support and develop junior staff and healthcare support workers, contributing to learning and service development
  • Contribute to service improvement, clinical governance, audit and quality assurance activities to enhance patient outcomes
Qualifications and experience required
  • Professionally registered and have relevant experience in planning and providing person‑centred and outcome‑based care.
  • Have knowledge and experience of working in multidisciplinary teams where care is coordinated and fully understand the impact of integrated care and services.
  • Have relevant experience in neurodevelopment assessment, diagnosis and support strategies.
  • Confident in the uni‑professional value add for these young people and their families and able to evidence transferrable skills to children and young people with neurodevelopmental impact.
  • Organised, motivated and able to demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills when working with children, young people and their families.
  • Excellent team working and communication skills.
  • Commitment to regular supervision, both uni‑professional and multidisciplinary, and to ongoing professional development.
  • It will be an advantage to have experience of assessment and intervention for children and young people with neurodevelopmental differences.
