Support Worker, Community Health

As a Support Worker in our Community Support and Holiday Service, you'll support adults with learning disabilities to enjoy greater independence, build confidence and take part in the activities they enjoy. Every day is different, with opportunities to support people in their local community and beyond.

What you will do

* Support individuals to enjoy community activities and hobbies

* Encourage independence and build everyday life skills

* Accompany people to appointments, education, work and leisure activities

* Support health, wellbeing and social inclusion

* Assist with personal care where required

* Maintain accurate digital records

* Work collaboratively with colleagues and families

* Promote dignity, respect and person centred support

About you

You don't need previous experience in care to be successful in this role. We're looking for someone with compassion, a positive attitude and a genuine desire to support others. You'll have good communication skills, basic IT skills and be keen to learn.

You will hold, or be willing to achieve, an SVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Social Care (depending on the role), or an equivalent qualification that meets Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) registration requirements. Experience or a qualification in supporting autistic people would be welcomed but isn't essential. This role requires membership of the PVG Scheme and registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
