Responsibilities- Use AI code generation tools to automate and optimize coding tasks (autocompletion, code generation, debugging).
- Collaborate with Product and other non-technical team members on AI tools from a product perspective.
- Integrate AI code generation tools into the development workflow.
- Implement and enforce coding standards using AI tools to maintain high-quality code and reduce technical debt.
- Stay updated with the latest AI and software development advancements to improve workflows and tool usage.
- Train team members on effective use of AI code generation tools.
- Contribute to and lead code reviews, design reviews, effort estimates, task breakdowns, and feature development.
- Optimize generated code for performance, security, and scalability.
- Contribute to the performance, scalability, and reliability of Planet DDS products.
- Ensure ethical guidelines and standards are maintained in AI developments.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 8+ years of experience in a software engineering/development role.
- Proven experience with AI code generation tools like Cursor, Github Copilot, Google AI Studio.
- Ability to use AI tools to solve complex technical challenges and automate tasks.
- Strong understanding of software development principles and best practices.
- Proficiency in identifying and resolving issues in AI-generated code.
- Ability to identify, analyze, and troubleshoot challenges to ensure secure, scalable, high-quality code.
- Track record as a strong individual contributor with technical leadership experience.
- Experience with datasets/databases (SQL Server).
- Experience with cloud providers to build/deploy/host solutions (ideally Microsoft Azure).
- Experience in a CI/CD environment.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Ability to engage across the company to achieve goals.
