Our client teams are focused on tackling the most challenging aspects of applied AI in the enterprise sector directly with clients.

Applied AI solution engineers are expected to work in small teams of Tomoro and client engineers to design, build and deploy AI applications, such as agents built around Large Language Models. As experience and expertise grow, this may extend to leading these teams, owning solutions end‑to‑end and advising clients in this space. The typical applications we build use existing closed or open‑source foundational models, potentially with some fine tuning.

We generally do not need to train our own foundational models from scratch.

• Visionary Leadership in Solution Development:
  Set vision for cutting‑edge AI solutions and products. Own the delivery process from idea generation to deployment, ensuring AI‑powered solutions are innovative and aligned with client strategic objectives.
• Advanced Analytical Problem‑Solving:
  Deep analytical approach to problem solving. Break down complex challenges into manageable plans, making critical decisions shaping project direction.
• Expertise in AI Application Development:
  Design, develop, test and deploy data and AI applications at an enterprise scale, providing technical leadership in building robust, efficient solutions that drive business transformation.
• Hands‑on Development and Team Oversight:
  Comfortable coding and providing technical leadership and delivery oversight to teams of engineers.
• Code Review and Mentorship:
  Manage and coach teams of engineers, fostering learning, growth and ensuring highest quality of code.
• Technical Stewardship across a Portfolio of Projects:
  Work across multiple accounts or projects simultaneously, amplifying impact through effective team leadership.
• Contribution to Tomoro R&D product & asset development:
  Work within R&D team contributing reusable assets to core code repositories.
• Senior Client Communication:
  Communicate with senior business and technical clients, explaining complex AI approaches, demonstrating solutions and building strong, trusting relationships.

• Background in software development: 5+ years developing enterprise software solutions.
• Strong experience leading design and development of production‑grade solutions, involving Python applications and data processing, building microservices, large scale stateful distributed systems, large language models.
• Strategic thinker and team leader:
  Transition from individual contributor to managing and leading teams, owning outcomes from inception to completion, setting vision, planning tasks, managing teams, taking decisions, inspiring motivation.
• Standard setter:
  Set high standards of technical excellence, guidance, identification of improvement areas, striving for better coding practices.
• Effective communicator:
  Explain concepts and approaches to senior business leaders and technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Coach, mentor and educator:
  Support professional development of engineers, creating supportive environment encouraging learning and growth.
• Multi‑threaded operator:
  Contribute to or oversee multiple projects simultaneously, balancing time and focus.
• Innovator and thought leader:
  Stay up‑to‑date with latest AI tech, applying new tools to real‑world problems, contributing to knowledge base and assets, developing reputation for insights and expertise.

Salary range of £90,000 - £135,000 + EMIs*.

Hybrid working policy. May need to be flexible to travel to client offices as part of project work.
