Job Description & How to Apply Below

We’re looking for a Senior Data Engineer to play a key role in transforming our data platform — moving from Azure Synapse to a modern Microsoft Fabric + One Lake architecture.

This is a hands‑on role with real influence, combining engineering, architecture, and platform evolution to support analytics, AI, and business decision‑making at scale.

SThree is the global STEM workforce consultancy, fusing ambition, expertise and technology. We advise businesses, build expert teams and deliver project solutions, to outpace tomorrow, together.

We’ve been in STEM for 40 years– a global team with local expertise across specialist sectors in Engineering, Life Sciences and Technology.

We aspire to be the game‑changers in STEM. We are all in, we build partnerships, we think big, and we do the right thing. We bring skilled people together, whatever the speed, scale and scope of the ambitions, to build the future.

What you’ll do
  • Own and enhance enterprise data pipelines (Dynamics, SAP, third‑party systems)
  • Work across Azure Synapse, Azure SQL, and medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold)
  • Help lead the transition to Microsoft Fabric & One Lake
  • Build scalable pipelines using DBT, Python, and Spark
  • Improve platform performance, monitoring, and governance
  • Set engineering standards and mentor others in the team
What we’re looking for
  • Strong experience as a Senior Data Engineer in enterprise data environments
  • Strong experience in Azure data platforms (Synapse, ADF, SQL)
  • Proven delivery of modern data architectures
  • Strong SQL + DBT
  • Experience building CI/CD for data platforms
  • Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including Fabric Data Warehouse, Lakehouse, and Spark workloads (desirable)
  • A mindset for driving change and improving engineering standards
What's in it for you
  • Hybrid working options for flexibility.
  • Bonus linked to company and personal performance.
  • 28 days holiday plus public holidays, with an annual leave purchase scheme.
  • Private healthcare, discounted dental insurance, and health cashback scheme.
  • Paid volunteering days and caregiver leave.
  • Access to retail discounts and our company share scheme.
Why join?
  • Early adoption of Microsoft Fabric
  • High‑impact role supporting AI and executive insights
  • Opportunity to shape architecture and engineering practices
  • This isn’t a BAU role — it’s a chance to build, modernise, and lead.
What we stand for

We’re committed to ensuring that every colleague, candidate, and member of our community experiences fair, equitable, and respectful treatment. We strive to create an environment where everyone belongs, feels valued, and is supported to thrive.
