Full Stack Engineer

The platform supports sensitive healthcare and medicolegal data, so security, auditability and reliability are central to everything you build.

The Opportunity Full Stack Developer | React, Type Script, Python & FastAPI

• Location:
  
  Glasgow (2 days per week onsite)
• Contract Length:
  Initial 6 months with extension potential

This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll own features end-to-end, from requirements gathering and design through to deployment and production support.

You'll be working on a modern stack consisting of:

• React & Type Script
• Python & FastAPI
• Docker
• AI and speech-to-text integrations

What You'll Be Doing

• Building new features across React frontends and FastAPI backend services.
• Designing and maintaining PostgreSQL schemas, migrations and queries.
• Working with a large clinical data model and healthcare-related datasets.
• Developing background processing pipelines for transcription, data extraction and AI-assisted workflows.
• Integrating LLM and speech-to-text services into production applications.
• Implementing secure authentication, authorisation and audit controls.
• Writing automated tests and contributing to a quality-focused engineering culture.
• Deploying and supporting applications on Google Cloud and containerised on-premise environments.
• Participating in code reviews and helping shape engineering standards across the platform.
• Working closely with the CTO and wider engineering team on architecture and product decisions.

We're looking for engineers with commercial experience in:

• Python and FastAPI, including API development and data validation.
• React and Type Script in production environments.
• PostgreSQL, including relational modelling, schema design and database migrations.
• Automated testing using tools such as Pytest, Jest, Playwright or Cypress.
• Docker and at least one major cloud platform (GCP preferred).
• CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices.
• OAuth2, OIDC and JWT-based authentication.
• Working with confidential or regulated data.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to deliver independently within a collaborative team.

Any of the following would be highly beneficial:

• Healthcare systems or healthcare interoperability standards (FHIR, HL7).
• NHS, healthcare, public sector, insurance or other regulated domains.
• Speech-to-text or transcription platforms.
• AI and LLM integrations.
• Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures.
• Event-driven systems and asynchronous processing.
• Firebase migrations.
• Accessibility standards (WCAG).
• AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, Cursor or Git Hub Copilot.
