B2 Software Developer; Outsystems) at Social Security

Social Security Scotland is currently seeking a Software Developer (Out Systems) to join our digital delivery teams and help develop, enhance and support a range of business-critical services. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative Agile environment, contributing to secure, reliable and user-centred digital solutions that support the delivery of Scotland's social security benefits.

As a Software Developer (Out Systems), you will be responsible for the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of live digital services. Working as part of a multidisciplinary Scrum team, you will design, build, test and support applications of medium to high complexity using Out Systems, ensuring solutions meet agreed standards and business requirements.

You will help resolve live service issues, undertake maintenance activities, contribute to system and integration design, and work closely with colleagues across Social Security Scotland and the wider Scottish Government to promote best practice and deliver high-quality digital services.

A Software Developer delivers software components that form part of a product. At this role level, you will:

• develop software to meet user needs
• follow best practice guidelines and help to improve those guidelines
• create clean, secure and well-tested code
• coach and mentor more junior colleagues
• operate the services you build and identify issues in production
