Position Summary
The Assistant Dean for Student Success and Strategic Enrollment serves as a senior member of the College of Education leadership team and provides strategic leadership for undergraduate student success, strategic enrollment management, recruitment, retention, selected academic affairs functions, and student engagement. Working collaboratively with the Dean, department chairs, faculty, university offices, and external partners, the Assistant Dean develops, implements, and assesses initiatives that promote enrollment growth, student persistence, academic success, and degree completion while advancing the College's educator workforce mission.
Student Success and Academic Affairs
- Provide strategic leadership for undergraduate student success initiatives that promote persistence, engagement, academic achievement, and timely degree completion.
- Serve as the primary college-level administrator for undergraduate student matters requiring review or resolution.
- Oversee undergraduate academic administrative processes assigned by the Dean, including student appeals, petitions, academic exceptions, grade disputes, faculty grievances involving students, and Transition Point Committee eligibility and appeals.
- Review undergraduate academic probation and suspension matters and coordinate appropriate interventions.
- Collaborate with Advising, the Registrar, Financial Aid, the Academic Success Center, Rowan Global/Reach, department chairs, and program coordinators to support student success.
- Monitor undergraduate progression, retention, and graduation data and recommend evidence-based improvements.
- Coordinate communications regarding academic policies, deadlines, and student success resources.
- Oversee the College of Education Student Ambassador Program.
