Triumvirate Environmental, one of the largest environmental services firms in North America, is seeking an Environmental Specialist for our Lab & Onsite Support Services (Lab/OSS) team. As an Environmental Specialist, you will support our clients on‑site by managing their hazardous waste programs & projects, utilizing state & federal regulations.

This position reports to the Operations Manager. The role is based on site at client locations – three days a week in Glassboro, NJ, and two days in Collegeville, PA.

Responsibilities
  • Develop an understanding of OSHA regulations as well as Triumvirate’s Health and Safety practices
  • Prepare chemical and biological waste for shipment and disposal, including creation of all federal/state waste documents and managing the paperwork
  • Handle hazardous waste containers on client sites, including loading/unloading from vehicles
  • Conduct safety equipment and hazardous waste inspections
  • Occasionally perform and document Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) audits for clients
  • Deliver Exceptional Customer Service:
    Champion the WOW commitment by providing outstanding support and innovative solutions to clients
  • Develop a high level of state and federal regulatory expertise ensuring client compliance (e.g., RCRA, DOT, OSHA)
  • Conduct spill response measures, including assessment of spills and cleanup efforts
  • Participate in rotating on‑call responsibilities as part of the Emergency Response team
Basic Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in the hazardous‑waste industry, or relevant military experience
  • Ability to work as a member of a team and independently
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues, develop solutions, and implement strategies for positive outcomes
  • Skilled at building strong, positive relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Availability to work overtime and flexible hours within the work week (Monday‑Friday)
  • Completion of a 2‑ to 3‑year professional advancement program in hazardous waste management
  • Experience handling hazardous chemicals and biological waste, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (safety‑sensitive role)
  • Ability to report to the Norristown, PA office within 1 hour during emergency response shifts
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Candidacy must be accompanied by consent to Motor Vehicle Record screening, criminal background check, pre‑employment physical, and drug screening (inclusive of THC)
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without future sponsorship
  • Ability to lift 60 pounds on a regular basis
Preferred Requirements
  • Prior relevant industry experience
  • Prior successful experience in a customer service role
  • Active HAZWOPER 24‑ or 40‑hour certification
  • Willingness to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
