A full-time postdoctoral position is immediately available for behavioral pharmacology research at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (in Camden, NJ) using rodent models of substance use disorders and analgesia to investigate novel experimental treatments.

• Design, conduct, and analyze experiments funded by current NIH and foundation grants.
• Generate new ideas to advance current research under the guidance of Dr. Thomas M. Keck.
• Drive the preparation and publication of peer-reviewed manuscripts and apply for funding opportunities for trainees.
• Mentor graduate and undergraduate students; opportunities to gain teaching experience are available as part of career preparation.

• Ph.D. in pharmacology, neuroscience, biochemistry, or a closely related field.
• Research experience in rodent behavioral pharmacology or behavioral neuroscience, including extensive handling and behavioral testing of mice and rats.
• Experience with IV jugular vein catheterization surgeries and statistical analyses of behavioral data is highly desirable.
• Strong scientific writing and oral communication skills.

Salary:
In compliance with The State of New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range is AFT:
Range 18 (Step 1: $53,277 to Step 4: $61,266), with placement within the range determined by qualifications and experience.
