Warehouse and Logistics Manager

We are a growing, owner-led online toy and model retailer with a busy warehouse operation at the heart of our business. We are strengthening our warehouse leadership structure and are looking for a Warehouse and Logistics Manager to work alongside our existing Operations Manager.

Our Operations Manager oversees order flow, stock control and logistics systems. This role will complement that by taking ownership of people leadership, day-to-day warehouse performance, commercial supplier management and Health and Safety compliance.

This is a senior, hands‑on leadership role within an SME environment — not a corporate or desk‑based position.

Warehouse Leadership and Performance

Lead and support the warehouse team day to day.

Allocate work and set the pace across picking, packing and goods‑in.

Actively process and pick customer orders.

Support and oversee deliveries, including unloading and organisation.

Maintain high standards of accuracy, productivity, and organisation.

Manage rotas, staffing levels and absence.

Address performance issues constructively and early.

Train and develop warehouse operatives.

Act as a visible leadership presence on the warehouse floor.

Commercial and Cost Management

Manage procurement of packaging and warehouse consumables.

Negotiate improved rates with packaging suppliers.

Manage courier relationships and negotiate competitive shipping rates.

Monitor and improve cost efficiency within warehouse operations.

Health & Safety and Compliance

Take ownership of warehouse Health & Safety standards.

Conduct and maintain risk assessments.

Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and safe working practices.

Promote a culture of safety and accountability.

Work in close partnership with the Operations Manager.

Maintain clear division of responsibilities and open communication.

Support continuous improvement across the warehouse function.
