About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Project Manager in Bridge Design to join our Transportation Division in Glastonbury, CT. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of multidisciplinary engineers.
  • Oversee all aspects of Bridge Design.
  • Manage projects and meet agreed‑upon budgets and schedules.
  • Make public presentations.
  • Perform quality control reviews.
  • Assist with the development of staff, including workloads, training and career planning.
  • Develop or review all aspects of engineering studies including data collection, models, plans and estimates.
  • Work with state or municipal clients on bridge infrastructure projects, including design and management of public state, county and city projects.
  • Develop new and existing client relationships and business development opportunities.
  • Assist with proposal preparation to secure new work.
  • Serve as Bridge Discipline lead on pursuits and opportunities.
  • Represent MJ at industry and professional society events.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer license required; ability to apply for comity in other states.
  • 10+ years of progressive bridge engineering analysis, design and project management experience.
  • Project experience with DOT required.
  • Self‑starter who thrives in a dynamic environment.
  • Business development relationship skills.
  • Public presentation experience required.
  • Strong business development skills and experience are a plus.
  • Experience obtaining federal, state and local regulatory approvals and permits.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Track record of financial success, delivering projects on time and on budget.
  • Effective participation as part of a project team, developing and maintaining client relations, and meeting project demands and schedules.
