We are seeking a talented Project Manager to lead a variety of wastewater engineering projects throughout New England. This is a hybrid position; candidates must be located in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, or Connecticut and be able to travel to client sites. A sign‑on bonus is offered, and relocation will be considered for the right candidate.
Primary Responsibilities- Manages project implementation with the assigned project team and follows all company policies and operating procedures.
- Initiates projects by developing proposals/scopes of work and project budgets for approval by the Principal.
- Supervises and directs individuals or teams of technical staff on projects and assists in the training and technical development of staff.
- Consults with other technical staff and Project Managers on technical challenges in wastewater and provides independent technical reviews.
- Oversees the technical accuracy of projects through regular communication with project staff and review of plans, specifications, reports, and calculations.
- Tracks all project costs, including labor and expenses, and ensures invoices are issued to the client in a timely manner in accordance with company policy.
- Other tasks may include proposal preparation, participating in project interviews, attending public meetings, developing fee proposals, preparing contracts, and presenting information to new and future potential clients.
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering with 9+ years of related experience, or a master’s degree in a relevant field with 8+ years of related experience.
- Registered Professional Engineer or equivalent professional registration in the state(s) where Apex does work, or the ability to obtain one by reciprocity.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with clients, staff, subconsultants, and contractors through effective leadership and strong written & verbal communication skills.
- Strong understanding of state and federal regulatory framework and experience interacting with regulators in the relevant technical areas.
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills and a strong desire to manage and mentor junior staff.
- A valid driver’s license.
