We are seeking a motivated Staff Geotechnical Engineer for our Glastonbury, CT (Hartford) office. This position will involve gaining experience within the commercial construction, waterfront, dam and levee, and public infrastructure sectors. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team and jumpstart a career in the geotechnical field.
- Perform engineering analysis and calculations.
- Oversee geotechnical field investigations.
- Coordinate and interpret lab test data.
- Manage geotechnical data through spreadsheets and databases.
- Prepare technical memos, reports, and construction specifications.
- Observe and document construction activities.
- Prepare and modify drawings using AutoCAD.
- BS in Civil Engineering or equivalent, with a focus in Geotechnical Engineering.
- 0 to 3+ years of experience.
- Excellent writing and general communication skills.
- Working knowledge of CAD.
- Ability to perform field work without restrictions, in inclement weather.
- Willingness and ability to travel 25% or more.
- Valid driver’s license.
- MS in Geotechnical Engineering is preferred.
- Experience in Civil 3D or GIS a plus.
- 40-hr OSHA/HAZWOPER training is a plus
