Financial Consultant, Financial Analyst
Gottfried & Somberg Wealth Management (“GSWM”) is an independent wealth advisory firm managing approximately $2.4 billion in client assets. We serve individuals, families, and business owners with comprehensive financial planning, investment management, and client service. We are seeking a motivated Associate Analyst to join our team in Glastonbury, Connecticut, and work closely with senior analysts and advisors to support our clients’ financial goals.
This is a full-time, onsite position responsible for providing wealth advisors with research, analysis, reporting and trading support. Candidates should have 1–2 years of relevant work experience in financial services, investment analysis, wealth management, or a related field.
Responsibilities and ExpectationsThe Associate Analyst is responsible for providing outstanding financial planning and wealth management for existing and future clients. The Associate Analyst supports advisors throughout the financial planning process by gathering client data; creating financial reports; performing investment research and financial analysis; creating retirement income plans; executing trades; and handling the Model Management platform for clients.
Client & Planning Workflow- Gather statements provided by new and existing clients, and enter data into planning software
- Initiate conference calls with new and existing clients and third‑party companies to obtain data about current insurance policies, annuities and investment accounts or to execute an account transfer/rollover
- Use Money Guide Pro , other planning software and proprietary spreadsheets to create financial statements and projections, run Monte‑Carlo analyses, and illustrate how to consolidate investments with our firm
- Monitor and periodically update financial and retirement plans
- Attend new and existing client meetings, take notes, create summary letters and perform necessary follow‑up.
- Work with a team of two Senior Investment Analysts to support portfolio management
- Conduct investment research as needed and generate accurate reports for meetings
- Analyze investments using Morningstar®, Riskalyze and other tools
- Source investment analysis and reports using COMMUnity Link®, Morningstar, and third‑party vendors
- Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis with reliably sourced data
- Research new products and services that will enhance client relationships or fulfill clients’ short‑ and long‑term financial needs
- Maintain model portfolios and manage client accounts within the Model Management platform
- Gather, organize, and submit data for share class conversions
- Remain up to date on industry developments by reading trade journals and other publications, especially Barron’s
- Attend teleconferences, educational events and seminars
- Comply with all FINRA, SEC and Commonwealth regulations; satisfy continuing education requirements towards all licenses and certifications as needed
- 1–2 years of relevant work experience in financial services, investment analysis, wealth management, or a related field
- Four‑year degree from an accredited college or university
- SIE, Series 7 and Series 63 licenses, or ability to obtain all required licenses within the first six months of hire
- Ability to work onsite five days per week in Glastonbury, Connecticut
