In the role of Telecommunications/Security Designer, we will count on you to contribute to project design and client outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Have strong general engineering knowledge of either the telecommunications (Horizontal/Backbone cabling and pathways) or electronic security systems (communications, electronic controls, CCTV, access control, UPS, etc.) and operational coordination with commercial hardware.
  • Meet with project clients to evaluate, define and review customer needs/objectives and ensure those requirements are met within the project design.
  • Define and develop complete project-related construction documents to include all design documents (SD, DD, CD) to show design intent, project specifications and assist with system-related activities within all construction administration (CA) activities.
  • Coordinate with integrated, multidisciplinary project teams to develop functional requirements, system designs, and other project-related requirements.
  • Develop alternative system design concepts, feasibility and trade-off studies, and value-added engineering when required for projects.
  • Maintain knowledge of current industry product offerings and research new emerging technologies.
  • Provide Construction Administration Services such as reviewing submittals and responding to contractor questions.
  • Assist in problem resolution and technical troubleshooting when field support is needed.
  • Due To Client Contract Requirements, US-born Citizenship Is Required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate or technical school degree, or combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 5 years of related work experience.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, handle multiple tasks independently, on schedule, and under budget.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
  • Ability to work in a high-velocity environment managing multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and workmanship quality.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency to work in Bluebeam, Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite; must be able to learn new applications quickly.
  • Knowledge of engineering drawing and design standards and practices.
  • Strong desire for continuous learning and professional education.
Required Qualifications
  • Technical degree or a combination of education and relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years digital design (BIM element authoring) and 3 years digital delivery (model management) experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of all discipline relations and operations of building systems.
  • Advanced skillset of 3D design software and document management infrastructure.
  • Advanced skillset of 3D coordination tools.
  • Advanced skillset of Microsoft Office products and communication tools.
  • Familiar with industry standards and practices, along with discipline codes and specifications.
  • Familiar with basic automation and programming applications for efficiencies.
  • Familiar with 3D design software add-ins and supporting applications.
  • Familiar with content creation and management concepts.
  • Superior client service, communication, and presentation skills are essential.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively serve as a first line of technical support.
