The role is responsible for overseeing all accounting, financial reporting, and internal control functions for the company. This position ensures the accuracy and timeliness of financial information while supporting ICI strategy. The Controller will lead the accounting team, optimize financial processes, and ensure bank compliance. This position reports to the VP of Finance and works in the office 5 days a week in Glen Allen, VA.

There is a team of 4 that will report to the Controller.

• Oversee all month end closing process with delivery to ICI Exec Team & External CPA
• Prepare income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and management reports.
• Maintain compliance with GAAP and internal reporting standards.
• Coordinate external annual GAAP audits, banking field exams and manage relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners.
• Lead the annual budgeting process and collaborate with department leaders to create reliable budgets.
• Primary Treasury Management lead overseeing daily/weekly transactions and Banking day to day.
• Identify trends, risks, and opportunities to support strategic planning.
• Monitor cash flow, working capital, and liquidity.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable and inventory accounting processes.
• Develop and implement new and automated reporting to support strategic direction of ICI Foods.
• Supervise, develop, and mentor the accounting team.
• Promote a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Implement systems and automation to improve efficiency and financial visibility.
• Improve, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Maintain and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and documentation.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP or SAP B1 preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
• Familiarity with SQL or databases a plus.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational abilities.
• Experience in a private mid‑market or growth‑oriented company preferred.
• Ability to operate in a fast‑paced environment with strong attention to detail.
