Position Overview

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for processing hotel and guest laundry, including sorting, pressing, and folding linens and garments. This role requires the use of commercial pressing, washing, drying, and folding equipment, as well as accurately programming machines and maintaining operational logs.

Key duties include ironing sheets, pillowcases, and table linens; folding towels and other linens; sorting soiled items; loading and unloading washers and dryers; and distributing clean linens to designated storage areas throughout the hotel. The Laundry Attendant ensures all items meet cleanliness and quality standards while maintaining a safe and organized work area.

This industry operates seven (7) days per week, twenty‑four (24) hours per day. Regular and reliable attendance, in accordance with company standards, is essential for success in this position.

Qualifications, Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED), or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Previous laundry or housekeeping experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and procedures.
  • Familiarity with the safe use of laundry equipment and proper chemical handling.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and transport items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 100 pounds.
  • Capable of performing frequent physical movements throughout various work areas.
  • Must be able to stand and maintain well‑paced mobility for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to reach above head and shoulder height to perform required job duties.
  • Work is performed in environments with variable temperatures and noise levels, including exposure to fumes or odors, dust or mites, biohazards, and cleaning chemicals.
Job Responsibilities
  • Maintain complete knowledge of the proper use, care, and maintenance of all laundry equipment.
  • Use all cleaning chemicals in accordance with OSHA regulations and hotel safety requirements.
  • Sort linens, towels, garments, and other laundry items by color, size, and fabric type.
  • Wash laundry using commercial equipment while following established sanitization and quality standards.
  • Unload laundry from commercial dryers and properly fold, press, or prepare items as required.
  • Wrap and prepare laundry items for guest pickup or delivery within the hotel.
  • Clean and maintain the laundry room, equipment, and work areas to ensure a safe and organized environment.
  • Stock and replenish laundry supplies, including detergent, bleach, laundry bags, and fabric softener.

Salary: $14.50 - $65000 per year.
