Job Description

  • TheLC Marine Electrical Engineer will help provide engineering technical and management support in studying, analyzing, and evaluating engineering problems, and developing solutions.

  • Support will include assisting in the development of contract documentation and the development of technical plans, specifications, cost estimates relating to the various categories of engineering support services, studies provided, and associated reports.

  • This position will be part of a contract team to assist in the preparation of a wide range of engineering and feasibility studies, providing engineering and technical support for design review, performance feasibility studies, and designs of ships, boat, and shipboard systems in support of existing and future vessel acquisition programs.

  • Conduct design, analysis, studies, and recapitalization of electrical circuits, power monitoring and control systems, electric propulsion, and power generation.

  • Evaluate effect of new or modified electrical subsystems on overall system performance.

Required Skills and Experiences
  • Knowledge U.S. Navy Power Distribution Architecture.

  • Review and adjudicate system design specifications, test requirements, Departures from Specification (DFS’s), Request for Waiver (RFW), and Engineering Changes (EC’s).

  • Familiarity with USN, USCG, ABS and/or commercial ship design rules and regulations.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ documented experience working in one of the following specialized fields: electric propulsion, machinery control, power generation or distribution systems.

  • Experience in design of electrical and electronic systems for shipbuilding, U.S. Navy, DoD, or U.S. Coast Guard programs preferred.

Degree Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • A secret security clearance
