Job Description
TheLC Marine Mechanical Engineer (Propulsion) will help provide engineering technical and management support in studying, analyzing, and evaluating engineering problems, and developing solutions.
Support will include assisting in the development of contract documentation and the development of technical plans, specifications, cost estimates relating to the various categories of engineering support services, studies provided, and associated reports.
This position will be part of a contract team to assist in the preparation of a wide range of engineering and feasibility studies, providing engineering and technical support for design review, performance feasibility studies, and designs of ships, boat, and shipboard systems in support of existing and future vessel acquisition programs.
Conduct analyses propulsion systems and types, marine auxiliary piping systems, lead development of technical data packages and reviews.
Conduct trade studies regarding ship configuration.
Familiarity with ABS, NVR, and commercial ship design rules and regulations.
Minimum of 3 years’ documented experience with developing ship propulsion and control systems, machinery arrangements, weight assessments, and conducting trade studies on the configuration of propulsion and associated components..
