Maintenance Technician Manager – Housing Commission & Corporation of Anne Arundel County
Under the supervision of the Assistant Director, Asset Management, the Technician Manager will oversee installations, repairs, upkeep, and maintenance operations to maintain a safe and comfortable environment for residents and employees. The role requires solid knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, and other maintenance crafts, as well as experience in administrative tasks such as reporting and budgeting.

Responsibilities- Plan, administer, manage, and maintain all programs and properties of the Commission.
- Conduct inspections of facilities to identify problems and perform maintenance.
- Recruit, hire, evaluate, and supervise maintenance technicians.
- Develop and enforce maintenance procedures.
- Monitor inventory of materials and equipment.
- Coordinate renovation projects.
- Prepare maintenance schedules and allocate work.
- Report on maintenance activities, budgeting, and compliance with regulations.
- Ensure compliance with HUD, federal, state, and local regulations and OSHA guidelines.
- Respond to employee issues and provide coaching, counseling, and performance correction.
- Recommend/approve discipline actions, promotions, and transfers.
- Exhibit high‑quality leadership, organizational skills, and trustworthiness.
- 5–10 years of engineering and construction experience.
- Prior knowledge of building systems and architectural design.
- HVAC or equivalent CFC certification.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Thorough knowledge of HUD, federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines.
- Ability to supervise and consult to maintain morale, efficiency, and community relations.
- Strong mathematical, language, and interpersonal communication skills.
