Travel RN - Med​/Surg Tele

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of experience and an active MD or Compact RN license.

• Active RN license (MD or Compact)
• BLS and ACLS certification (AHA only)
• CPI certification required (Calm Every Storm online version only accepted)
• NIHSS certification required
• 2 years of recent RN experience required
• Prior travel experience required (subject to manager discretion)
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and dysrhythmia management
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and wound care/wound vac

• Med/Surg Tele unit with adult and geriatric patient population
• Average daily census of 40-42 across 22 rooms/42 beds
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift, 3x12 schedule (4x12 also accepted), 20:00-08:30
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within specialty, sister units, and lower acuity areas as needed
• No pre-scheduled on-call shifts required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Provide nursing care for adult and geriatric patients on a Med/Surg Tele unit
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Holiday coverage required as scheduled
• First-time travelers will be considered at manager discretion
• Locals must reside 50+ miles from the facility to be eligible unless otherwise specified
• Returning staff must have a 12-month break from the health system before returning as a traveler
• Returning travelers must have at least a 6-month break from the system after completing an assignment
• Maximum of 7 days RTO may be requested; requests of more than 4 consecutive days require an additional week added to the contract
