Dover Hospice, a regional healthcare provider and true friend of adults facing terminal illnesses, seeks a service‑minded, career‑oriented individual to join our team as a Certified Nurse's Aid at our Glen Carbon location.
As a Hospice CNA, you will have the opportunity to connect with, and positively impact the lives of, our patients daily. You will promote the physical, personal, and emotional well‑being of patients and work with the Dover Health teams by comfort and compassion to every patient and family member during this critical period.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with the supervising RN to fulfill the defined patient‑specific Hospice CNA Plan of Care.
- Collaborate with the care team as an extension of nursing services to ensure all patient needs are fully addressed.
- Deliver hands‑on personal care and supportive services to assist with safe activities of daily living in accordance with the established Hospice CNA Plan of Care and in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and agency policies.
- Document care provided according to agency policy.
- Use Durable Medical Equipment safely.
- Participate in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
- Participate in professional development and lifelong learning activities.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
- Current Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification.
- Current Basic Life Support/CPR certification.
- Preferred hospice or home care experience.
- Current and valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current liability auto insurance.
- Must be able to meet all physical demands of the job, which includes, but is not limited to, seeing, speaking, touching, walking, standing, bending, reaching overhead, crouching/kneeling or crawling, as well as the ability to regularly lift/move up to 50 lbs independently and up to 200 lbs with assistance.
- Ability to work well with others and take direction from management, as well as take initiative – willing to go above and beyond to ensure our patients needs are met and they are comfortable in their living environment.
