Student Worker Eligibility:
Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours for Fall/Spring semester or 1 credit hour for Summer semester.
Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above. If a first semester student, GPA requirement is waived.
If a Student qualifies for Federal Work Study, the Student will be hired as a Federal Work Study employee to utilize these funds.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for various clerical and customer services duties in the Transfer Services department under the direction of the Transfer Coordinator. Primarily assists with transfer events, college representative visits, and data entry tasks.

  • Represent College of DuPage with integrity and professionalism at Transfer Services events (workshops, college fairs, information sessions) and while interacting with staff, faculty, students, & college/university representatives.
  • Attend transfer events, staff department table interacting with students/community members and assist with set up and take down the day of the event.
  • Screen requests from students/guests in person, ask pertinent questions, describe services, answer general questions, and decide on appropriate action.
  • Greet college representatives and walk them to visit locations according to visit schedule.
  • Assist with student data entry for transfer services, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with FERPA.
  • Perform internet research and data entry tasks to update resource documents and website content.
  • Assist Transfer Coordinator with event planning such as brainstorming, drafting facilities usage documents, and updating event planning documents.
  • Promote transfer services and events through submissions to the college calendar, flyer distribution, and signage on campus.
  • Assist with event promotional materials and content on social media and for the Transfer Services newsletter in collaboration with the Transfer Coordinator.
  • Other relevant duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education
    • THIS IS A FEDERAL WORK STUDENT JOB.
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours for Fall/Spring semester or 1 credit hour for Summer semester.
    • Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above.
    • If a first semester student, GPA requirement is waived.
    • If a Student qualifies for Federal Work Study, the Student will be hired as a Federal Work Study employee to utilize these funds.
  • Experience
    • Previous customer service experience, proficiency in written and spoken English required.
    • Strong time-management and organizational skills.
    • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
    • Ability to research items on the internet required.
    • Basic knowledge of MSOffice software required.
    • Ability to handle confidential information required.
  • Licenses and Certifications
  • COD Training
    • Compliance Training

Working Conditions:

  • Physical demands of the role are low.
  • Mostly sitting, standing or walking.
  • Occasionally lifting items up to 25lbs.
  • This position will require background check.

Pay Rate: Student Rate 1 - $15.00 per hour
