AM Class Time:
Schedules Vary; typically range Monday-Friday AM: 8:45-11:15am

PM Class Time:
Schedules Vary; typically range Monday-Thursday PM: 12:15-2:45pm

Hours vary depending on need;
Substitute Teachers are contacted as soon as possible

Ongoing during the School Year and Summer Preschool Camps as needed

Under the direction and supervision of the Manager of Early Childhood Services, the Preschool Substitute Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing daily curriculum and activities as well as classroom management in the absence of either the Preschool Lead Teacher or Preschool Assistant Teacher. The Preschool Substitute Teacher will implement the daily schedules with learning outcomes and monitor children’s attendance, progress and communicate/update parents in the absence of assigned staff.

Follow safety guidelines while providing a safe and comfortable environment for the children. Offer quality customer service. Additional duties include but are not limited to, promoting the preschool program, room set up and regular cleaning, attending staff meetings and trainings, and other duties as assigned. This is an at-will position.

The ideal candidate:

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older and a high school graduate or equivalent
• An Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Child Development/Early Childhood Education is preferred, or relevant combination of training and experience
• Previous teaching experience required
• Must be friendly and creative with the desire to engage and educate children
• Must have strong communication skills in both verbal and written format to communicate effectively with staff, children, and parents and provide quality customer service
• Ability to maintain discretion with regard to confidential matters and/or information
• Effective problem-solving skills with the ability to act calmly and effectively under pressure or in difficult situations
• Solid computer and keyboard skills preferred
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task a plus
• Certification in First Aid and CPR is required but will be provided if not current
