About the roleThe Leasing Coordinator is a full‑time, frontline role responsible for managing leasing inquiries, conducting property tours, and supporting the application process across multiple properties within one or more assigned pods. This position works closely with Property Managers and Assistant Property Managers to drive occupancy, maintain consistent leasing standards, and deliver a professional, compliant leasing experience.
This role is best suited for an independent, self‑starter who is comfortable working with minimal supervision and takes ownership of results. The Leasing Coordinator must be motivated, organized, and adaptable, with the ability to adjust their schedule as needed to meet leasing demand and operational priorities across multiple properties. Success in this role requires initiative, accountability, and a willingness to do what’s needed to support occupancy goals and day‑to‑day site needs while consistently representing the company’s service standards.
Whatyou’ll do
- Respond promptly and professionally to leasing inquiries across assigned properties and pods.
- Pre‑qualify prospects and schedule and conduct property and unit tours at multiple locations.
- Maintain current knowledge of unit availability, pricing, concessions, and rental criteria across assigned properties.
- Log all leads, tours, and follow‑up activity accurately in the property management system.
- Provide application instructions and support prospective residents through the leasing process.
- Coordinate completed applications with the internal application processing team and property leadership.
- Post and update rental listings across MLS platforms, the company website, and other marketing channels.
- Support open houses, outreach efforts, and on‑site marketing activities across assigned pods.
- Assist with resident outreach and lease renewal efforts as directed.
- Coordinate with Maintenance and Property Management teams to ensure units are tour‑ready.
- Observe and report safety, cleanliness, or curb appeal issues while on site.
- Provide general administrative support related to leasing activities.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1–2 years of experience in leasing, customer service, hospitality, or sales preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer‑focused approach.
- Organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities across multiple locations.
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating with site teams.
- Sales‑oriented mindset with the ability to confidently present units and address questions.
- Proficient with basic technology; experience with App Folio and Google Workspace is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of Fair Housing guidelines or willingness to learn and apply them consistently.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel between assigned properties and pods.
- Illinois Leasing Agent License or ability to obtain one within 60 days of hire required.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes regular weekend availability.
- Hourly Pay: $20.00 to $24.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
- Overtime: Paid in accordance with applicable federal and Illinois state laws.
- Leasing Commissions: Monthly commissions based on new leases and lease renewals at assigned properties.
