Dish Washer/Porter at Quest Food Management Services
Location:
Glen Ellyn, IL
$15.00/hr - $15.50/hr
Position SummaryPerforms a number of kitchen activities including pot washing, dishwashing, general cleaning duties, and storing food and non‑food supplies. Maintains the cleanliness and sanitation of the dish area, kitchen, cafeteria and loading dock.

- Sets up cutting boards, trash cans, mats, dish machines and pot sinks.
- Organizes pot shelves for easy access.
- Washes all soiled kitchen equipment, pots, pans, and small wares according to proper sanitation standards.
- Ensures trashcans are emptied as needed and disposes of cardboard boxes appropriately.
- Maintains kitchen and pot room floors swept and mopped to prevent slipping accidents.
- Empties dish machine and pot sink every two hours or as needed, refilling with clean water and proper chemicals.
- Maintains high level of cleanliness of kitchen, pot room, dish machine, mop room and storage areas; sweeps and mops at end of each day.
- Performs daily and weekly cleaning schedule.
- Distributes and stores clean pots, dishes, and utensils.
- Records concentration of sanitizing solutions in dish machine and 3‑compartment sink.
- Cleans and sanitizes production equipment, work surfaces, and kitchen per schedule and procedures.
- Keeps floor drains clean and free of dirt, grease and trash.
- Follows all Quest policies and food safety guidelines.
- Reports to scheduled shifts on time and in complete uniform.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to perform simple arithmetic and understand measurements and conversions.
- Responsible for meeting and maintaining state and local certification requirements (Food Handler certification).
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Previous experience in the food service industry working in schools or higher education.
