Special Education Teacher in Glendale Heights, IL

Bring your expertise in special education to a vibrant educational environment as a contract SPED Teacher supporting 3rd5th grade students. This onsite opportunity is near Glendale Heights, IL and involves providing specialized instruction during a short-term leave coverage from early November 2026 through late January 2027 (excluding Winter Break, holidays, and student non-attendance days). The assignment offers consistency, a supportive school community, and a regular full-time schedule with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break each day.

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement required
• Experience as a Special Education Teacher in a school setting, ideally with elementary grades
• Comfortable working with various settings and caseload types
• Strong communication skills, flexibility, and ability to collaborate with other teachers and staff
• Dedicated to fostering inclusion and empowering students with diverse learning needs

• Deliver engaging and individualized instruction to 3rd5th grade students with special education needs
• Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams
• Adapt curriculum to meet students' unique learning goals
• Monitor student progress, maintain clear records, and communicate updates with parents and staff
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports student growth and success
• Participate in team meetings and provide expertise on best practices for special education

This full-time position offers a predictable schedule

Monday through Friday, from 8:15 AM to 3:45 PM, allowing you to focus on supporting students during a critical period in their learning journey.

Compensation for this position ranges from $25.00 to $45.00. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals.
