Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Overview
Summary Of Position. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Mechanic performs mechanical and electrical preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production, packaging, physical plant and warehouse equipment including heating and refrigeration systems, conveyors, motors, and related components.
Location: 85W Army Trail Road, Glendale Heights (New Facility)
Schedule: 5-day work week / Sunday - Thursday
Shift: 2nd Shift / 2:00-10:00pm

Compensation & Benefits include a $1,000 annual tool allowance paid out quarterly, a call-in premium (minimum of 4 hours pay plus $150), a weekend workday bonus, a $3,000 sign-on bonus, and a target hourly wage of $30.00 to $40.00 per hour. Comprehensive benefits are provided as described below.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Build strong, collaborative relationships with production and maintenance management and personnel to identify and communicate areas of concern and actions taken.
- Use computerized maintenance management system MVP One to access and disposition preventative maintenance schedule and work orders, and log corrective maintenance actions.
- Complete daily inspections, routine adjustments, assigned preventative maintenance tasks, and emergency repairs of building, production equipment, and systems. Identify and correct deficiencies to assets and to preventive maintenance instruction sets and frequencies.
- Install new electrical and mechanical equipment as directed.
- Perform electrical repairs and troubleshoot PLC controls, AC & DC motor controls, solid state motor controls, advanced circuits, and grounding; interpret diagrams and test equipment.
- Maintain facility utilities including wastewater equipment, compressed air, refrigeration, boilers, and building safety equipment.
- Read schematics, drawings, and manuals to establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Maintain organized documentation and inspection records; keep accurate spare parts inventory.
- Maintain good housekeeping at job site and in shop.
- Support continuous improvement projects and maintain a safe working environment.
- Be punctual and reliable in attendance; assist in training of others.
- Comply with all safety, security, sanitation and food safety requirements including OSHA and GMP standards in production areas; report safety, food safety or quality issues to supervisor or Food Safety department.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
- Electrical: 110–480V, AC & DC control, wiring & ladder diagrams, inverter programming, troubleshooting.
- Welding: gas, arc, MIG, TIG; steel, brass, aluminum, stainless, cast iron; plasma cutting.
- Heating and refrigeration: freezers, coolers, water chillers, air conditioners, gas-fired heating systems, boilers, water heaters, and heat exchangers.
- 4+ years of related industrial maintenance experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of internet, manufacturing and preventative maintenance software.
- Ability to troubleshoot malfunctions, solve practical problems, and manage multiple variables under time constraints to restore operations.
- Ability to read, interpret and comprehend complex work instructions, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and technical manuals.
- Basic math skills; ability to apply algebra and geometry as needed.
- Effective communication, professionalism, and sound judgment.
- Efficient time management; plan repairs and installations to ensure parts are available when needed.
- A self-starter with a strong work ethic and sense of urgency.
- Upbeat, calm demeanor; able to work in fast-paced environments.

Compensation estimates are provided in good faith at the time of job posting and may vary based on education, certifications, knowledge, experience, location, shift, and internal equity. This range may be modified in the future.
- Target Hourly Wage: $30.00 to $40.00 per hour
- Position is eligible for annual bonus
