Overview

Join ENERCON’s Design Services Group as an Associate Manager/Manager I&C Design Engineering. You will oversee a talented engineering unit, directing projects to success and ensuring exceptional quality standards. This role includes responsibilities in business development, staff development, and organizational support. This role can be based in one of the following locations:

• Kennesaw, GA
• Palm Beach Gardens, FL
• Pensacola, FL
• Birmingham, AL
• Fort Worth, TX
• Phoenix, AZ
• San Luis Obispo, CA
• King of Prussia, PA
• Baton Rouge, LA

• Lead a dynamic engineering team; mentor and assign work to balance activities across groups.
• Define scope of work for proposals with PMs and lead engineers; ensure unit quality and enforce standards.
• Manage budget and schedule for assigned projects; assign Responsible Engineers and recommend Lead Responsible Engineer for unit-led projects.
• Approve engineering documents and certify designs as required by codes and client requirements.
• Lead proposals, develop client relationships, and market the unit’s capabilities.
• Provide technical leadership, resolve complex issues, and support Continuous Improvement Plans.
• Oversee staffing, performance appraisals, recruitment support, and resource allocation.
• Support site work opportunities and staff development through training and professional growth.
• Contribute to business goals by meeting time targets and managing unit performance.

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited university
• Typically requires a minimum of 6 years of engineering experience, including nuclear power industry exposure, plus 2+ years of leadership experience
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required
• Ability to gain and maintain unescorted access at nuclear sites
• Experience in Nuclear Power Plant environments and familiarity with NRC codes
• Excellent verbal and technical writing skills; ability to communicate with team, clients, and management
• Strong coordination and team-building skills; ability to work across disciplines
• Ability to assess team strengths/weaknesses and adjust support accordingly
• Ability to motivate teams and lead in line with ENERCON’s Defining Excellence fundamentals
• Willingness to travel up to 15–25% of the time for project/marketing meetings
• Familiarity with pre-job briefs and site walkdowns; climbing as needed
