Dist Suppt Pharmacist FT – CVS Health
Join our team as a District Support Pharmacist (DSP) and help deliver exceptional pharmacy care across our district. In this role you will fill scheduling gaps, manage pharmacy operations, and support our pharmacy teams under the direction of the Pharmacy Manager and Rx District Leader. JobPurpose and Summary
The DSP supports pharmacy teams throughout the district, ensuring safe, accurate medication dispensing, patient counseling, and immunization services. You will act as a role model for pharmacy staff, promote a culture of excellence, and help improve patient outcomes by initiating clinical services when permitted. Your leadership will assure compliance with federal/state regulations and CVS Health policies while fostering a safe, inclusive environment.
Responsibilities- Living our purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.
- Traveling the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled by the District Performance Coordinator; overseeing the pharmacy and serving as the Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during bench shifts.
- Supporting safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following pharmacy workflow procedures and directing the team to do so.
- Assuming the Pharmacy Manager’s day‑to‑day duties when the only or primary pharmacist‑on‑duty.
- Contributing to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, coaching staff, and resolving insurance or medication issues.
- Offering and delivering immunizations and coaching Pharmacy Technicians to learn immunization skills.
- Managing pharmacy inventory, with emphasis on cold‑chain product protection and best‑practice procedures.
- Maintaining flexibility for scheduling and business needs while promoting a safe, inclusive, and engaging team culture.
- Keeping clinical and technical skills current, including mandatory trainings and continuing medical education.
- Providing pharmacist‑delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services where permissible, and empowering the pharmacy team to offer holistic care.
- Complying with all federal, state, and CVS Health policies, including controlled substance regulations and patient privacy protections.
- Travel within a reasonable radius to support market staffing needs.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.

- Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located.
- Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
- Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list.
- 1–2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
