Job Summary:
We are seeking an accomplished Software Engineering Lead to guide our enterprise data engineering efforts, with a focus on Azure Data Lake, Databricks, and secure cloud design. This leadership role requires deep technical expertise in the Azure ecosystem, data architecture, and hands-on experience delivering secure, scalable solutions. U.S. Citizenship is required due to project constraints. Key Responsibilities: Architectural Design and Implementation:
  • Design robust data architectures using Azure Data Lake and Databricks.
  • Optimize workflows for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
  • Define and implement best practices for data ingestion, storage, and retrieval.
Data Governance and Security:
  • Implement Azure security protocols, including RBAC, encryption, and compliance controls.
  • Conduct audits and vulnerability assessments with security teams.
  • Enforce governance aligned with organizational and industry standards.
Team Leadership and Collaboration:
  • Lead a team of data engineers; provide mentoring and direction.
  • Align technical delivery with business strategy through Agile practices.
  • Partner with analysts, scientists, and IT to deliver secure, high-impact solutions.
Platform Optimization and Monitoring:
  • Manage Azure Data Lake/Databricks environments and monitor system health.
  • Introduce new tools and optimize Azure services for data performance.
  • Develop alerting systems and incident response for platform stability.
Strategic Planning and Roadmap Development:
  • Create and execute a roadmap for long-term data engineering strategy.
  • Advocate for lakehouse adoption and cloud cost optimization.
  • Stay current with data engineering trends and innovations.
Required Experience:
  • U.S. Citizenship — required without exception
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, IT, or related field
  • 8+ years in data engineering (3+ years in leadership roles)
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Azure Data Lake, Databricks, and other Azure services
  • Proven success implementing enterprise-scale data solutions
Required Skills:
  • Azure platform architecture & engineering
  • Data lake design and optimization
  • Databricks development and orchestration
  • Azure RBAC, encryption, security best practices
  • SQL and data modeling proficiency
Preferred Skills:
  • Azure Data Engineer Associate / Azure Solutions Architect certification
  • Experience with data lakehouse architectures
  • Familiarity with GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA, or other data governance frameworks
  • Dev Ops practices for data environments
  • CI/CD for data pipelines
Additional Skills :
