Our client, a leading independent investment management firm, is seeking an experienced Electronic Communications & Discovery Engineer for a 6+ month contract in Houston, TX. This role is onsite 4 days a week.

As an Electronic Communications Archive Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with global regulatory requirements and internal policies for electronic communications.
You will design, implement, test, and troubleshoot systems and processes that capture, store, and monitor all forms of business communication, including email, chat, SMS, and social media. Additionally, you will leverage advanced tools to enable search, review, analysis, and export of communication data for compliance, legal, and audit purposes.
This role requires close collaboration with compliance, legal, and audit teams to support the preservation, collection, and production of electronic communication data in response to regulatory requests, investigations, and litigation.
Key Responsibilities- Design, implement, and maintain secure archiving and journaling solutions for electronic communications in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve automation, scalability, and resilience.
- Ensure confidentiality, integrity, and security of communication data while adhering to internal policies.
- Develop monitoring frameworks and leverage analytics to track system health, detect anomalies, and proactively resolve issues.
- Analyze requirements, design and implement enhancements, and deliver projects on time.
- Prepare documentation and processes to enable ongoing support of systems.
- Stay informed on emerging technologies and regulatory changes to recommend innovative solutions.
- Communicate effectively and foster collaboration across technology, compliance, and business teams.
- Act as a subject‑matter expert for troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
- Coordinate with internal teams and vendors to ensure timely resolution and minimal business disruption.
- Experience in financial services or other highly regulated industries.
- Deep understanding of regulatory requirements (SEC, FINRA, MiFID II) and best practices for electronic communication capture.
- Expertise in archiving platforms (Veritas Enterprise Vault, Microsoft 365 Purview, Proofpoint) and monitoring tools (Splunk, Elastic).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Power Shell, Python) and integration with 3rd‑party connectors for email, chat, SMS.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach.
- Excellent communication skills to explain technical concepts clearly and collaborate effectively across teams.
Pay Rate: $60.87 per hour
