Critical Operations Technician

Join QTS Data Centers as a Critical Operations Technician and help keep our data center environment running smoothly 24/7/365.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance on electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and IT equipment; record readings and adjust as needed for optimal performance.
  • Install, repair, and troubleshoot IT, mechanical, and electrical equipment, supporting the team with major repairs and routine upkeep.
  • Configure computer hardware and software, install wall panels, racks, cabling, cabinets, and customer equipment according to provisioning documentation.
  • Process work orders for preventive and corrective maintenance on critical building and site infrastructure; coordinate with supervisors to procure required tools and materials.
  • Create and update tickets in the ticketing system to manage customer calls and facility-related alerts.
  • Respond to building emergencies and customer requests promptly.
  • Safely store, use, and dispose of hazardous materials in compliance with departmental policy.
  • Follow the Change Management Process to obtain approval for maintenance, document work, and complete tasks using QTS software.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Two or more years of technical or trade training, military experience, or workplace equivalency.
  • Background in facilities maintenance, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, or IT hardware and cabling.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • One or more years of experience in a data center, commercial, or industrial environment (preferred).
Work Environment

On‑site work hours (24X7X365 availability). The role is not eligible for remote or hybrid work.
