Role

Purpose:

The Senior EHS Manager is responsible for the active leadership and oversight of all Environmental, Health, and Safety programs to ensure the safe, compliant, and sustainable operation of the Glendale brewery. This role drives the execution of EHS goals, priorities, and expectations across the facility while ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and company standards. The Senior EHS Manager monitors overall EHS performance, leads incident prevention efforts, strengthens safety culture, and supports continuous improvement through data‑driven decision‑making and KPI management.

This position blends hands‑on engagement on the plant floor with strategic leadership to protect our people, our environment, and our operational success.

Accountabilities and Impact

Leads the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of environmental, health, and safety programs, policies, and procedures in partnership with the Plant EHS Manager and site leadership. Ensures all employees understand and can execute established procedures while meeting EPA, OSHA, DOT, and company requirements.

Evaluates the effectiveness of EHS programs and management systems through regular monitoring, auditing, and data review; provides expert analysis and actionable recommendations to drive performance and reduce risk.

Leads the site incident management process (in collaboration with Corporate EHS) for safety, environmental compliance, and food safety events, including required notifications to OSHA, EPA, or local regulatory agencies.

Oversees the review, maintenance, and accuracy of all company injury and incident records, ensuring compliance with regulatory reporting and internal data standards.

Monitors changes in federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations; communicates impacts, implements required changes, and guides the site through compliance transitions.

Champions a proactive safety culture by engaging teams on the floor, leading risk assessments, promoting behavioral safety practices, and driving accountability at all levels.

Partners with plant operations, maintenance, quality, and corporate teams to reduce operational risk, improve training effectiveness, and support sustainability and environmental initiatives.

Tracks and manages key EHS KPIs, leveraging metrics to target improvements, reduce incidents, and support long‑range strategic planning for the site.

Skills and Experience Needed:

Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

5–7 years of progressive EHS experience within industrial or manufacturing environments; experience in Food & Beverage manufacturing is preferred.

Demonstrated expertise in regulatory compliance, incident management, risk reduction strategies, and EHS management systems.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including public speaking and facilitation in meetings and training settings.

Professional safety certifications such as Graduate Safety Practitioner (GSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred.

Strong technology skills, including Microsoft Office and the ability to learn and utilize standardized systems and reporting tools.

Ability to influence across levels, manage multiple priorities, and drive results with a sense of urgency.

Minimal travel may be required.
