HF Sinclair, Asphalt Operations Glendale, is seeking a motivated individual for the process operator or loader position. This position performs or directs others to perform the work entailed in the safe and continuous operation of refining equipment in which crude or other oil is upgraded into marketable products such as gasoline, kerosene, lubricating oil, fuel oil, wax, extracts, and a variety of other petroleum products.

Minimum of two years of on-the-job work experience is required. Experience in refinery or chemical plants is preferred. Related experience such as mechanical, industrial, military, stationary equipment and/or boiler experience is preferred.

Minimum of a High School degree, GED or equivalent is required. Preferred educational level: continued education in mechanical or chemical related discipline.

Verbal/written communication, computer literacy, good mathematical and problem‑solving skills, ability to read and interpret various instructions, procedures, rules, and regulations. Communicate and cooperate in a "team" environment; develop and maintain good work attitude and habits; maintain high energy level; seek opportunities for continuous self‑improvement; adjust to changing conditions; remain composed during stressful situations; recognize personal limitations and seek help when needed;

recognize and correct process problems; make fact‑based decisions in a timely manner.

Job conditions vary depending on Process Operator assignment within a refinery based industrial environment. Conditions include controlled temperature environments, wet or humid conditions, all temperatures including outdoor inclement weather, work near moving mechanical parts and rotating equipment, work in high and precarious places located in excess of 100 feet, dust, dirt, chemical and petroleum product exposures, confined spaces, noise and vibration exposure, and exposure to electrical shock.

Ability to work a 12‑hour rotating shift schedule and overtime is required.

Job conditions require the ability to stand, sit, walk, talk, hear, use precise hand and finger movements, reach or grasp, lift or carry 50 lbs, push or pull 50 lbs, climb in excess of 100 feet, read/write technical and nontechnical information, communicate verbally and visually, perform math calculations, operate motor vehicles, perceive color differences, wear personal protective equipment including flame‑retardant clothing and full-face respirators, and perform strenuous physical activity.
