Role OverviewThe Emergency Clinical Coordinator provides on‑shift leadership for the Emergency Department, coordinating patient flow, staffing, and clinical operations to ensure safe, timely, and high‑quality care. This role serves as a primary liaison with ED physicians, hospital leadership, ancillary departments, and pre‑hospital/EMS partners. The coordinator mentors bedside staff, supports regulatory readiness, and champions performance improvement aligned to ED quality metrics.
What You’ll Do- Lead real‑time ED operations on nights: triage support, bed assignment/turnover, throughput, and escalation for high‑acuity cases.
- Serve as clinical resource for RNs/techs: coach best practices in rapid assessment, resuscitation, pain/PONV control, sepsis/STEMI/stroke pathways, and safe handoffs.
- Round for quality and safety; reinforce documentation standards, medication safety, and core measures compliance.
- Collaborate with ED medical director, charge RNs, house supervisor, lab, imaging, respiratory, and inpatient units to reduce LWOT and door‑to‑disposition times.
- Partner with EMS for smooth transitions; participate in debriefs and incident reviews.
- Precept, mentor, and support competency validation for new and experienced staff.
- Contribute to scheduling input, resource allocation, and supply/equipment readiness.
- Assist leadership with policy rollouts, audits, and survey/regulatory preparedness.
- Current RN license (Arizona or compact).
- BLS and ACLS (AHA).
- PALS or ENPC (or obtained within 90 days of hire).
- Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions in high‑stress situations; strong communication and teamwork skills.
- 1+ years recent ED experience (community or academic setting).
- Prior charge, preceptor, or coordinator experience.
- TNCC and CEN certifications.
- BSN or higher degree.
- Night shift differential + $15,000 sign‑on bonus (eligibility rules apply).
