Correctional Officer 1 - Perryville Complex
State of Arizona – Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR)
Base Pay Range$45,621.00/yr – $54,975.00/yr
Job SummaryWe are actively seeking talented individuals for Correctional Officer positions at the Perryville (Goodyear, AZ) facility. The role supports ADCRR’s mission to enhance public safety through modern correctional practices and meaningful engagement. Successful candidates will attend and complete the 13‑week Correctional Officer Training Academy (COTA) in Tucson, Arizona, and then serve a 12‑month probationary period.
Responsibilities- Ensure the security of the inmate population within the facility’s perimeter.
- Provide supervision and guidance to inmates.
- Conduct thorough pat and strip searches to maintain safety.
- Effectively de‑escalate situations.
- Initiate and complete reports accurately and promptly.
- Fulfill all assigned post duties diligently.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations as required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Adherence to high standards of ethics, integrity, and professionalism.
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform searches, restraints, and respond to emergencies.
- At least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license.
- No felony convictions.
- Proof of U.S. legal residency.
