Security Management & Operations, Site Security
Provides security for City facilities, enforces rules and regulations, answers questions and provides information to the public. Supervises security officers including safety, annual evaluations, timecard management, scheduling of all staff and safety inspections.
Minimum three (3) years’ experience as a security officer, police officer, or military police officer. One year of lead or supervisory experience, to include making assignments, instructing, and leading the work of subordinate employees, is preferred.
Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of required education.
Knowledge of:- Industrial security practices
- Electronic security alarms and systems
- Principles and practices of personnel management, supervision, and safety
- Analyzing and reacting to emergency situations
- Making assignments, instructing, and leading the work of subordinate employees
- Review, monitor, and analyze CCTV video
- Identify hazardous or unsafe conditions or behaviors
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with City staff and the public
- Effectively communicate orally and in writing
- Operate city vehicles
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid Arizona driver’s license.
- May be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
- May require Terminal Operator Certification (TOC
B) by the Arizona Department of Public Safety within six months of hire. - This position is classified as safety-sensitive which requires candidates to successfully undergo drug and alcohol testing prior to employment. They will be subject to further drug and alcohol testing throughout their period of employment in accordance with the City of Glendale Substance Abuse policy. A post-offer physical assessment is required. The City of Glendale will incur the cost of all required testing.
