Fire Alarm Installation Journeyman and Foreman – Industrial Power Solutions
At Industrial Power Solutions (IPS), we power and protect critical infrastructure across Arizona’s industrial, energy, and municipal sectors. Now we’re looking for a Fire Alarm Installation Foreman who’s ready to step up and lead field teams installing and maintaining fire alarm and life safety systems.
What You’ll Do
As a Fire Alarm Foreman, you’ll lead installation teams, ensure code compliance, and make sure every system we install is tested, reliable, and built to protect lives. You’ll oversee installations, troubleshoot issues, and work closely with clients and site contacts to get the job done right.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the installation or upgrade of fire alarm systems in commercial and industrial buildings
- Test, inspect, and repair systems to ensure full compliance and functionality
- Troubleshoot wiring and device issues to isolate and resolve faults
- Complete inspection reports and communicate results clearly and professionally
- Coordinate with building engineers, property managers, and GC contacts
- Verify all installations prior to final tie-in and commissioning
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in safe working condition
- Enforce jobsite safety protocols and PPE requirements
- Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency service needs
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Mentor and support junior technicians and apprentices on-site
What We’re Looking For:
- 5+ years of fire alarm system experience, including team leadership
- Strong knowledge of NFPA 70 and 72
- NICET certification preferred (or working toward it)
- Experience with commercial/industrial fire alarm systems
- Skilled in troubleshooting, testing, and verification of devices and circuits
- Strong understanding of local code requirements
- Ability to lead field crews and keep projects on schedule
- Clean driving record and reliable transportation
- Flexibility to work overtime, travel, and respond to after-hours service calls
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, climb, kneel, crawl, and work in elevated or confined spaces
- Capable of using ladders, lifts, and power tools safely and effectively
- Must be able to work indoors/outdoors in various conditions
