About us
Milestone Industrial Steel is a structural steel fabricator on 12 acres in Glendale. We handle procurement, in-house fabrication, and field erection for commercial, industrial, and custom residential projects across Arizona. We're growing, and we want people looking for a career, not just a job.

The role
You'll take shop drawings and turn raw material into accurate, weld-ready assemblies. Our work ranges from beams, columns, and moment frames to stairs, handrails, embeds, and lintels. You'll lay out, fit, and tack pieces so our welders can finish them and they go together right in the field.

What you'll do

• Read and interpret shop drawings, piece marks, weld symbols, and cut lists
• Lay out and fit beams, columns, braces, and frames: clips, stiffeners, base plates, cap plates, and connections
• Fit stairs (stringers, treads, landings), handrails, guardrails, embeds, and lintels
• Measure, square, and level assemblies to tolerance
• Tack weld assemblies and prep them for final welding
• Cut, grind, drill, and torch as needed to fit pieces
• Check work against drawings and catch errors before parts leave your station
• Work with welders, the shop foreman, and detailers to resolve drawing questions
• Operate overhead cranes and rigging to move and flip members safely
• Keep your bay clean, organized, and safe

What we're looking for

• 3+ years of structural or miscellaneous steel fitting experience
• Strong blueprint reading: dimensions, elevations, sections, and weld symbols
• Accurate with tape, square, levels, and layout tools
• Able to tack weld (FCAW or GMAW)
• Experience with grinders, torches, mag drills, and saws
• Overhead crane and rigging experience
• Comfortable working in shop conditions, including Arizona heat, and lifting 50 lbs
• Own basic hand tools; reliable transportation

Nice to have

• AWS D1.1 certification or able to pass a weld test
• Stair and handrail fitting experience
• Experience with CNC beam line or plasma-cut parts
• Forklift certification
• Bilingual English/Spanish
