We are seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Glendale, CA. This role supports a busy purchasing team within the construction, industrial facilities, and infrastructure industry, with a strong focus on purchase order processing, data entry, vendor communication, and customer service support.
The Purchasing Assistant is ideal for someone who enjoys a fast-paced administrative environment, takes pride in accuracy, and is comfortable communicating with vendors, technicians, and internal team members by phone and email. This is a great opportunity for a motivated professional with 1 to 2 years of experience who wants to build purchasing, procurement, and order processing skills while contributing to a collaborative team.
This position offers the chance to learn from an experienced purchasing group, support essential operational workflows, and grow into a long-term role for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities- Process purchase orders accurately and efficiently for the purchasing team.
- Perform high-volume data entry while maintaining strong attention to detail.
- Communicate with vendors, technicians, and internal team members by phone and email.
- Support customer service needs related to orders, purchasing requests, and vendor follow-up.
- Maintain and update purchasing records using ERP software, G-Suite, or Microsoft Office tools.
- Prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while working independently and as part of a team.
- $23.00 to $26.00 per hour.

- Support order processing, follow-up, and administrative purchasing tasks.
- 1 to 2 years of administrative, data entry, customer service, purchasing support, or order processing experience.
- Experience processing purchase orders or working with PO documentation.
- Strong data entry skills with excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
- Comfortable communicating by phone and email in a professional manner.
- Proficiency with G-Suite or Microsoft Office.
- Working knowledge of ERP software.
- Ability to multitask, stay organized, and manage shifting priorities.
- Strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and confidence in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently while supporting team goals.
- Prior buying, procurement, or purchasing assistant experience.
- Experience supporting purchasing operations in construction, industrial facilities, infrastructure, or a related industry.
- Familiarity with vendor coordination, technician support, and order follow-up processes.
